Hi! My name is Elle and I’m looking for a home. I’m currently living with a nice family who has taken me in with the hopes of finding me a loving family. I turned one in February and I spent the first year of my life living in a small cage that was barely large enough for me to stretch out in. I was rarely let out and didn’t get consistent food or water. It was miserable and so lonely living in that cage. My leg muscles were not fully developed because I never got any exercise and I was really skinny. When I arrived at my foster home on the first day, I ran around in their backyard for forty-five minutes because I was so excited to stretch my legs and run free. My previous owner always said I was too energetic, but that’s because she never let me out of my cage so when I did get out, I was really excited. After hearing my story, my current foster home decided to take me in because I was headed for the pound. My irresponsible owner was moving and didn’t want to take me with her – thank God she didn’t! I came from the pound so I remember what a scary place it is and I’m so grateful I didn’t end up there again.
I’ve put on some weight and my legs have filled out with good food, exercise, and playtime with two other dogs that live in my foster home. I also like cats and love sniffing the four that live here in my foster home. I hope to have a home like them one day. I’m about 18 pounds, I’ve been fixed, and vaccinated. I’m what you would consider a medium-size dog and stand about a foot tall. I’m also very sweet, loving, and obedient. I really like to go outside and run, pick up the scents of squirrels, deer, and other little critters, but I’m really very well behaved inside my foster home. Since I’ve been here, I’ve learned to go potty outside, sit, come, stay, “give-me-paw”, and I can almost “sit up” and beg like those really smart dogs who do fancy tricks. I can make my foster family laugh when they take me on trips to the park or other places outside of my daily routine because I like to get up on my hind legs and walk like humans do. I like to make them laugh so I guess that makes me a funny dog. With a little love, patience, and practice I could learn many other things because my foster family says I’m really smart.
I hope you will give me the opportunity to meet you. I really love kids and just about everyone, so I’d make a great dog for many different types of families. Ideally, I would love a family who has a yard I can run and play in, and I would also really love a family who already has a dog I can play with. I never knew dogs until I came to my foster family and I really like them. If you don’t have a back yard, that’s ok – but I would need someone who was willing to take me on walks because I love exercise. I have mastered the art of love-looks, I’m very sweet, cute, and just want to find a forever, loving family.
